About Synetic

Synetic was born from a simple question:

"Why are so many guitar pedals so expensive?"

That's what I asked myself while I browsed the internet for my first guitar pedal. My name is Aydin Wilhelm, and I'm the founder and owner of Synetic. Throughout my years, I've always loved watching YouTube videos in particular that feature awesome musical equipment, from instruments to synths to pedals. Despite this, it was years before I actually decided to buy myself some equipment of my own. However, upon window-shopping on Google, Sweetwater, and Guitar Center, I came to the realization that music equipment wasn't cheap.

I was a double bassist first, but I wanted to branch out to electric guitar and bass.

This is what originally lead me to pursue guitar pedals to buy. However, the cost of a lot of the equipment was a significant barrier to me. Being only 18 at the time, I didn't want to spend hundreds from my hard-earned money on guitar pedals I might not even like.

That's when it hit me: what if I'm not alone?

I realized that this could be a major catch for many potential customers of guitar pedals. I decided to make a business out of it, and embraced a modern method to solve this problem; pedal rentals over one-time purchases. This eliminates the economic barrier, as well as eliminating the risk that a customer might not like a pedal after they've spent hundreds of dollars already. This way, customers could spend a couple bucks to try out a pedal for a couple months. Then, at the end of their billing period, they could decide whether they want to keep it or return it.

Since then, I've met many incredible builders local to Ohio which inspired me to keep my business loyal to it's roots. That is why Synetic is dedicated to bringing local builders to the light.

I want Synetic to be Ohio's one-stop shop for local pedals.

Here at Synetic, we continue to grow and offer as much to our community as possible. Thank you for remaining a valuable contributor to our mission!
